South Gloucestershire Local Plan 2020
With the removal of the Joint Spatial Plan South Gloucestershire are now beginning the process of producing a new Local Plan.
The consultation process began in July 2020 with a call for sites consultation. Later this year, South Gloucestershire Council will be publishing a ‘Phase 1’ Local Plan consultation document. This will be followed in due course by further consultations which the Parish Council will review and comment on as necessary when they are published.

Local Plan call for sites (March 2021 update)
The most recent ‘call for sites’ is now closed and ran from 7 July 2020 to 20 October 2020.
One of the key aims of the Local Plan will be to allocate sites for the new homes, jobs, infrastructure, services and facilities that will be needed in South Gloucestershire.
There is also an updated online map which displays sites submitted during the 2018 and 2020 Call for Sites which can be found here.

October 2025 Update
South Gloucestershire Council submitted the Local Plan to the Government’s Planning Inspectorate (PINS) under regulation 22 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, on Friday, 24 October 2025.

The Examination in Public commenced at The Council Offices in Kingswood on 19th May and is expected to last approx. 6 weeks
