The Village Hall

In 1986 the then St George’s Church Hall situated on the A38 was handed over to the Parish Council by the Gloucester Diocesan Trust on behalf of St George Parochial Church Council on a 52 year lease. Since then day to day running of the Village Hall has been undertaken by a Management Committee made up of elected and co-opted members and representatives from various of Village Organisations who use the hall. In 2022 following the Parish Council being in receipt of income via the Community Infrastructure Levy major improvements were undertaken which saw the complete rewiring of the hall,  a new heating system, the addition of a disabled toilet, a sound system, projector and screen and a mezzanine floor in the small hall. At that time due to the cost of the work involved and as the lease on the hall had less than 20 years remaining the landlords were approached by the Parish Council for an extension of the lease which was agreed. Some delays have occurred since then in producing a new lease mainly due to its complexity and the time  it has been with the Charity Commissioners for their input but hopefully as of June 2026 it is hoped that the new lease could be in place by the end of 2026.
